Sunday 23rd of November 2025
Over the weekend of the 21st-23rd November 2025, NUSSAGG + Ed welcomed 249 SSAGOnauts to our own planet, Planet SSAGO, for a weekend of astronomical activities and out of this world fun at West Hall Scout Campsite!
Lift off commenced on Friday with clubs arriving from all over the solar system, some having had a very long space flight. A meal of hotdogs was devoured and a stellar space themed quiz hosted that allowed our astronauts to undertake the training they needed for a space themed weekend.
Saturday arrived and the SSAGOnauts blasted off on a variety of activities. Most set course for Planet Newcastle to enjoy expeditions including a Space Mission, a variety of museums, a Greggs venture, exploration of the Swedish Planet IKEA and a moonwalk around nearby Jesmond Dene. Some ventured further into the cosmos for a trip to Planet Beamish, a moonwalk at Hadrian’s Wall, exploration of the seaside biome and a Metro line pub crawl using Newcastle’s own space rockets!
In the evening, everyone blasted back to Planet SSAGO for all the regular Rally festivities. Dinner consisted of planets, asteroids and wormholes in their galaxy (meatballs, pasta, sauce and peas) and SSAGO danced the night away in a ceilidh and silent disco that featured many extraterrestrial tunes.
Sunday arrived and it was time for everyone to return to their home planets, thank you to everyone who came and especially to those who volunteered - Mission Control, over and out!
